Machine control and retrofit software for analog mammography

Machine control, interface and PC-based operator software that bring an installed analog mammography system to digital acquisition — keeping the existing gantry and compression in service while adding a modern console, guided calibration and DICOM output to PACS.

System scope

  • Machine control and interface for the analog mammography system
  • PC-based retrofit control software and operator GUI
  • Digital detector integration on the existing gantry

Acquisition workflow

  • Patient registration with demographics, patient ID and accession number
  • Pregnancy status recorded before exposure for radiation safety
  • Standard views selectable: RCC, LCC, RMLO, LMLO
  • Capture, on-screen review, and discard for retakes

Detector control

  • Detector connection with live status, frame size and window timing
  • Exposure parameters recorded at the console: kV, mA, seconds and mAs
  • Host and sensor IP configuration for the detector link

Detector calibration

  • Guided three-step routine: bright field, dark field, make reference
  • Corrects sensor noise and artifacts, and evens detector uniformity
  • Reference profile applied automatically to all subsequent captures
  • Calibration protected by separate credentials

DICOM & PACS

  • DICOM 3.0 output with push to PACS from the console
  • Server AET, IP and port configuration with a connectivity test
  • Institute and station details written into the DICOM header
  • Configurable storage paths for images, calibration and DICOM output

Security & administration

  • Secure login with role-based access control
  • Permissions restricting features by user privilege
  • Station and operator identity recorded against each study
