IG Drives and Systems (“IGDS”, “we”, “us”) designs and manufactures embedded systems and electrical equipment. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We have kept it short and specific, because a policy you cannot read is not much of a policy.
What we collect
We collect personal information only when you choose to give it to us. In practice that means the enquiry forms on this website, which ask for:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- The content of your message
We do not ask for, and have no use for, financial details, identity documents or any sensitive personal data through this website. Please do not send them to us by these forms.
Why we collect it
We use the information you submit for a single purpose: to respond to your enquiry and, if it leads somewhere, to discuss the engineering requirement you have approached us about.
We do not use it for marketing lists, we do not profile you, and we do not send newsletters or promotional mail unless you have separately asked us to.
Who sees it
Enquiries submitted through this website are delivered by email to our own company mailbox and are read by the IGDS staff who handle that enquiry. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes.
Information may pass through the technical providers who run this website and our email — our web hosting company and our email provider — who process it on our instructions only. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Enquiry emails are retained for as long as the enquiry or the resulting business relationship is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards for our own records. Where an enquiry does not proceed, we delete the correspondence once it no longer serves any purpose.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies or third-party tracking pixels. We do not build a profile of your browsing.
If you switch the site between light and dark appearance, that single preference is stored locally in your own browser so the site remembers your choice on your next visit. It is never transmitted to us and identifies nobody. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Some pages embed content hosted elsewhere, and the social media links in our footer take you to platforms operated by other companies. Once you follow such a link, that platform's own privacy policy applies, not ours.
Keeping it secure
This website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and access to the mailbox that receives enquiries is restricted to authorised staff. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so while we take reasonable and appropriate measures, we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send confidential technical or commercial information through a web form — contact us first and we will agree a suitable route, including a non-disclosure agreement where the work calls for one.
Your rights
You may ask us to confirm what personal information of yours we hold, to correct it if it is wrong, or to delete it where we have no continuing reason to keep it. You may also withdraw any consent you have given. Write to us at the address below and we will respond within a reasonable period.
Children
This website addresses businesses and professional buyers. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
